Allen Precision Equipment Acquires Advanced Lasers and Instruments

Advanced Lasers, headquartered in Equipment has entered into an agreement to acquire Advanced LasersIndianapolis, is a leading provider of machine control and surveying products for measuring professionals in Indiana, Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Technologies such as reference station networks, robotics, GPS and machine control systems are the core business of this market-leading organization.

Allen Precision Equipment has entered into an agreement to acquire Advanced Lasers and Instruments, the company announced last week. Advanced Lasers, headquartered in Indianapolis, is a leading provider of machine control and surveying products for measuring professionals in Indiana, Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Technologies such as reference station networks, robotics, GPS and machine control systems are the core business of this market-leading organization.

“Advanced Lasers will continue to operate as an independent company, but all operational infrastructure will be consolidated into Allen Precision Equipment in Duluth, Ga., a member of the Leica Geosystems family,” said Ken Mooyman, president and CEO of Leica Geosystems. “The acquisition of Advanced Lasers is part of our execution plan within Leica Geosystems’ overall NAFTA growth strategy. Even as there continue to be challenges in the economy this year, we will execute our growth strategy and invest in the precision measurement market space as specific opportunities arise.”

Based in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, Leica Geosystems is best known for its broad array of products that capture, analyze and present spatial information.
