Terex has hired about 500 workers at its Redmond and Moses Lake, Wash., aerial work platform plants during the first quarter in response to demand from customers replacing aging equipment, Bloomberg.com has reported.

Terex spokesman Tom Gelston said companies, particularly equipment rental businesses, are buying to replace older equipment.

Terex is based in Westport, Conn.
