Honda Motor Co. this week announced that its cumulative worldwide power products production reached the 100 million-unit milestone during 2011.

The company’s power products business dates back to 1953 when an engine for agricultural equipment was launched to use Honda's engine technologies to reduce the manual labor of farmers.

Since then, Honda has been utilizing its core technology, the engine, to gradually expand its power products lineup, which now includes tillers, generators, outboard engines, water pumps, lawnmowers, snowblowers and other products.

Today, Honda power products are produced at 11 production plants in nine countries and are used by people in more than 150 countries around the world.

Honda Power Equipment, a division of American Honda Motor Co., markets a complete range of outdoor power equipment, including outboard marine engines, general purpose engines, generators, lawnmowers, water pumps, snowblowers, tillers and trimmers for commercial, rental and residential applications. Its comprehensive product line is powered exclusively by 4-stroke engines.
