Case Construction Equipment announced last week that it is supporting JLG Industries in fulfilling a four-year, $78 million contract with U.S. Army TACOM (Tank, Automotive and Armaments Command) to refurbish Army engineer equipment being used in Iraq and Afghanistan.
According to Bill Thompson, manager of the defense products group for Case Construction Equipment, Case will be supervising the refurbishment of Case M4K rough-terrain forklifts and MW24C wheel loaders. JLG will be refurbishing the ATLAS and 6000 M model telehandlers.
“We are established in Iraq at Camp Anaconda to refurbish Case equipment in partnership with the prime contractor JLG,” Thompson said.
He noted that Case MW24C wheel loaders and M4K rough-terrain forklifts have been used by U.S. forces to handle materials and supplies around the globe since the 1980s. Under the terms of the contract, units will be refurbished to fully mission-capable standards.
