Designed to specifically meet the demanding needs of the aviation industry, Genie introduces its new Genie GS-2646 AV scissorlift this week at the Cygnus Aviation Expo in Las Vegas.
Designed with reach, access and safety for increased productivity in the aviation industry, the new Genie GS-2646 AV scissorlift offers a powered extension deck option that provides an extra five feet of reach. The Padded Aircraft Protection Rail system cushions the platform railings, providing an extra level of protection. Gates at both ends of the platform provide easy access for the operators. The platform extension deck and gates are interlocked, preventing the machine from being operated while the deck is extended or while the gates are open.
“Through our extensive research, we were able to design our new machine to hone in on the needs of this unique industry,” said Jeff Weido, scissors senior product manager, Terex Aerial Work Platforms. “This scissorlift is not just for aircraft maintenance; it is also for aircraft manufacturing. It is truly a start-to-finish product for the aviation industry.”
The Genie GS-2646 AV scissorlift offers a working height of 32 feet and a drive height of 26 feet. The width of the scissor with the PAR is 4 feet, 8 inches.
The new unit will be available in all ANSI markets with production beginning in mid- to second quarter. Other Genie products for the aviation industry include an Aircraft Protection System, which works on all telescopic and articulating booms from 30 to 135 feet, as well as the industry’s first portable LED light towers.
