China’s Construction Machinery Industry Names Perkins to Top Five
China’s construction machinery industry community named engine manufacturer Perkins one of the Top Five Most Influential Power System Manufacturers for 2010 in the first survey ever conducted to gauge the performance of components suppliers supporting China’s construction machinery industry.
The survey was organized by HC360, one of the most visited industry websites in China. Evaluation was based on popular voting via the Internet, text and post, and was reviewed by industry experts as well as the media and buyers. During two months of voting, nearly 740,000 people cast their votes.
Perkins won its place in the top-five list of most influential power system brands.
The expert review was made up of a panel of more than 20 seasoned experts in the Chinese construction machinery industry.
“By honoring the highest quality component manufacturers, this survey is designed to raise awareness among the construction machinery community the importance of components suppliers in supporting their pursuit of quality,” said Jia Xiaowen, secretary-general of equipment integration and packaging chapter, China Construction Machinery Association, and survey adviser. “By quality companies, we do not just focus on sales performance, but other aspects including technology, research and development, management, as well as marketing.”
Nigel Baseley, Perkins’ marketing director, accepted the award for the company.
“We are most honored to be named in the top five most influential power system brands,” said Baseley. “Perkins has been serving Chinese customers since the 1970s. We have now built two world-class production lines in our engine campus in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, supplying both our China and global customers with the 400 and 1100 Series.
“Our ambition is to be the natural choice for Chinese equipment manufacturers. This award proves that we are working in the right direction in realizing this ambition. We are committed to continuing this effort to meet the demand of our partners in China’s equipment manufacturing community, ultimately helping them succeed in both the domestic and export markets.”
