Joy Global Seeking Acquisition Opportunities, CEO Says

Leading mining equipment manufacturer Joy Global, said this week that it is looking for acquisitions to fill out its product lines and expand its production capacity, the Wall Street Journal reported. Joy Global CEO Mike Sutherlin said he is interested in adding hydraulic mining excavators and underground hard-rock mining machinery.

The Milwaukee-based company last month agreed to acquire LeTourneau Technologies from Rowan Cos. for $1.1 billion. The acquisition will expand Joy Global’s line of high-horsepower wheel loaders.
