Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Sany Corp. has put plans for a heavy equipment assembly on hold because of the economic downturn, according to online news reports.
Sany, which has already purchased the land for the assembly facility and a new U.S. headquarters in Peachtree City, Ga., is continuing to hire design engineers and sales staff, operating from a leased facility nearby.
Sany recently sent notice to the state declaring its intent to take 90 days to evaluate the situation before deciding how to proceed, local officials said.
