McConnellsburg, Pa.-based JLG Industries and the Long Drivers of America last week announced that JLG will again be a primary sponsor of the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship, a power golf event. The 2006 Re/Max WLDC, which carries a $500,000 purse and awards world titles to long-drive specialists in four divisions, takes place Oct. 24-28 at The Palms golf course in Mesquite, Nev. A 90-minute highlights package from the event debuts on ESPN on Dec. 24. “Having access to JLG products, including ultra boom lifts that reach up to 135 feet in the air, helps immeasurably with the technical aspects of our Re/Max WLDC highlights package on ESPN, especially in regard to creating unique camera angles and aerial positions,” said Art Sellinger, LDA’s CEO. JLG Industries is an international producer of access equipment. The company’s diverse product portfolio encompasses brands such as JLG aerial work platforms; JLG, SkyTrak, Lull and Gradall telehandlers; and an array of complementary accessories.
