Ramirent Signs Outsourcing Agreement with Finnish Construction Giant
Finland-based international rental company Ramirent has signed a letter of intent with Hartela Oy for the outsourcing of equipment, machinery operations and personnel to Ramirent Finland. The companies have agreed to sign a co-operation agreement whereby Ramirent would rent equipment and provide related services to Hartela.
Hartela is one of the largest construction companies in Finland with 2014 net sales of €283 million (about U.S. $314 million). The deal effectively turns over Hartela’s fleet, operations and personnel for Ramirent to manage.
Contract negotiations and negotiations for the re-organization of Hartela’s operations have started. The aim is to sign the final agreement and begin the cooperation agreement by the end of November.
“The aim of the cooperation agreement is to ensure access to a modern evolving fleet of machinery and an operational model that improves our competitiveness and ability to serve our customers even better both centrally and through our local operations,” said Kari Varkki, head of business development for Hartela-yhtiöt Oy.
“Hartela has a long experience of operating in the Finnish construction market,” said Anna Hyvönen, executive vice president of Ramirent Finland. “Our cooperation has deepened since 2014 when Hartela outsourced their tower crane operations to Ramirent and signed a cooperation agreement in Finland. We are pleased that Hartela has signed a letter of intent for the outsourcing of their machinery operations. Our aim is to offer Hartela world-class equipment rental services and improve cooperation further.”
Ramirent has operations in 10 countries in northern, central and eastern Europe, with total sales of €614 million (about U.S. $690 million) in 2014. It is based in Vantaa, near Helsinki, Finland.
