Wirtgen Group Acquires Stake in Asphalt Mixing Plant Manufacturer

The Wirtgen Group has acquired a 70-percent stake in Benninghoven GmbH & Co., located in Mülheim, Germany, a manufacturer of asphalt mixing plants. Wirtgen, which includes the Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm and Kleemann brands, will, with the addition of Benninghoven, offer all processes starting with the crushing of rocks through the mixing of asphalt to laying, compacting and rehabilitating pavement structures.

Wirtgen is based in Germany, and has its U.S. headquarters in Antioch, Tenn.
