Aggreko plc recently celebrated the opening of a service center in southwest Shanghai, in the industrial area of Songjiang. Aggreko entered the China market in November 2006 as Aggreko (Shanghai) Energy Equipment Rental Co., opening its first office in February.
The opening is a continuation of Aggreko’s presence in Asia. It began operations in Singapore in 1987 and opened Aggreko Hong Kong in early 2006.
“Our office in Shanghai allows us to provide support to the local market in very short delivery times,” said Ian Rogers, managing director of Aggreko Asia. “Within short lead times of contract negotiations, we are able to respond quickly to the clients’ needs in all industry sectors of China, including events, shipping, manufacturing, industrial and oil and gas. Aggreko’s international footprint also enables us to mobilize equipment from our strategic locations, and install multi-megawatt power packages quickly and efficiently.”
Since opening the Shanghai branch, Aggreko has won three local contracts, two for backup power for shipping companies, and temporary power for the AIGP race at the Shanghai international circuit.
