Austrian construction equipment manufacturer Liebherr will begin manufacturing equipment in the United States by 2013, its president Lena Hogue said at the ground breaking for a new sales, service, parts and warehouse distribution center in Hialeah Gardens, Fla., the sunsentinel.com reports. The new venture will create from 80 to 120 jobs, the company said.
The 40,000-square-foot distribution center will serve as a major hub for Liebherr for its heavy crane and machinery business to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Liebherr has committed more than $90 million in U.S. investments, Hogue said.
