Speedy Invests in Ford Pickup Fleet

The U.K.’s largest tool and equipment rental company Speedy has invested £2.8 million (about U.S. $4.5 million) on 110 Ford Transit T350 drop-side pick-up trucks, the company said. The new delivery vehicle fleet has already begun service, transporting equipment between Speedy’s 400 nationwide branches and customer project sites.

The U.K.’s largest tool and equipment rental company Speedy has invested £2.8 million (about U.S. $4.5 million) on 110 Ford Transit T350 drop-side pick-up trucks, the company said. The new delivery vehicle fleet has already begun service, transporting equipment between Speedy’s 400 nationwide branches and customer project sites.

The vans are equipped with raised safety bars on each side and at the rear in order to prevent falls from the vehicles as equipment is off-loaded.

Company officials said the vehicles will prevent workplace falls, improving safety of Speedy employees and customers.
