Dutch Aerial Rental Giant Riwal Acquires 70 Percent of Estonia’s 123Lift
Dordrecht, Netherlands-based Riwal, one of the world’s largest JLG dealers and renters of aerial work platforms, has acquired a 70-percent share interest in 123Lift, an Estonian aerial rental company. The acquisition provides Riwal with the opportunity to rental activities in the Baltic countries and, eventually, Poland.
Riwal’s manager of marketing and public relations Rik Maaskrant told RER that current partner Aivar Brock will remain as general manager in that area. Maaskrant added that Riwal plans to make major investments in 123Lift’s rental fleet, growing the inventory to 700 aerial work platforms by early 2009.
The acquisition comes about a week after Riwal’s acquisition of a 70-percent share of Grupo Clem, a Spanish rental company specializing in aerials.
Riwal has other branches in The Netherlands, as well as Denmark, Norway, France, Slovenia, and, most recently, Kazakhstan. It has joint ventures in other European countries and the Middle East.
