Speedy Hire, the U.K.’s largest tool and equipment rental company has named Andy Connor supply chain director. Connor has 27 years experience in the rental industry, beginning as a trainee fitter at HSS in 1982. Before joining Speedy in 2005, Connor was technical and procurement director at Hire Station.
Since joining Speedy, Connor has been a driving force behind a number of supply chain projects including the integration of Hewden Tools’ supply chain and has been instrumental in securing a number of supplier arrangements.
“I have worked in the hire industry for over 30 years and do not know anyone else with Andy’s expert knowledge across such a broad product range,” said Martin Knott, managing director for business and customer excellence at Speedy. “In my view, he’s the world’s leading expert on hire products. He’s a real asset to the firm and respected both within the hire industry and with suppliers.”
Speedy Hire, based in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, England, has about 400 locations in the U.K.
