Snorkel has signed Proing LTDA as its official distributor in Colombia, the aerial equipment manufacturer said. Proing was founded in 1997 in Bogota, Colombia’s capital, as an engineering consultancy and has since grown to become a construction equipment distributor with an equipment rental fleet that includes aerial work platforms, excavators, cranes, telehandlers, compressors, pumps and compactors.

Snorkel has worked with Proing for more than a year and has been impressed with the company’s philosophy of safe working at height. In 2011, Proing was the first company in Colombia to join IPAF and has since become the country’s first official IPAF operator training center.

The aerial market is expected to grow significantly in coming years since the Ministry of Labor issued Resolution 1409 in July, calling for proper risk assessments when working at heights above 1.5 meters.

“Proing is a great partner for Snorkel and a great ambassador for our industry,” said Mike Falcon, regional sales manager for Latin America for Snorkel. “This is a company that has embraced the concept of safe working at height and continues to be a real pioneer in Colombia. Proing works extremely hard to promote the safety and productivity benefits of aerial lifts and has excellent customer relationships in the construction sector. Working together will grow the market for Snorkel products.”

“This is a great opportunity to align our company with one of the most recognized brands in the world for work-at-height equipment,” added Carlos Ramirez, Proing owner. “We can now offer our industrial and construction customers a leading solution that greatly improves their productivity and safety when working at height, while also helping them comply with new government regulations.”
