EquipmentShare and Cummins Announce Landmark Collaboration to Deploy 1 Gigawatt of Mobile Power
EquipmentShare, one of the largest construction equipment rental providers in the United States, announced a multi-year fleet agreement with power solutions provider Cummins Inc., positioning EquipmentShare as a key rental and distribution channel for Cummins. The collaboration calls for expected fleet growth to 1 gigawatt of natural gas power generation capacity to support major energy projects across the United States.
As the U.S. experiences a surge in industrial development and critical infrastructure, contractors face a critical bottleneck: regional utility providers are struggling to keep pace with soaring power demand. According to the North American Electric Reliability Corp., peak electricity demand in the U.S. is projected to surge by more than 220 gigawatts over the next decade. The strategic investment in Cummins power generation products, including the commitment to utilize the C1400N6C, a 60Hz continuous lean burn gas generator set capable of delivering between 1400 - 1750 kVA of power, will establish EquipmentShare as a leading provider of temporary power, microgrid, and battery energy storage solutions for mission-critical infrastructure projects nationwide.

By utilizing existing pipeline infrastructure where available and supplementing with virtual pipeline logistics to deliver fuel to off-grid sites, EquipmentShare provides uninterrupted power and equipment uptime across any terrain. This natural gas-led strategy delivers a cleaner alternative that can reduce total energy costs for contractors by 50 percent to 80 percent compared to traditional mobile power.
