Sims Crane & Equipment Names Mike Kuffermann Chief Operating Officer
Sims Crane, a provider of crane, rigging and lifting solutions across the Southeast, last week appointed Florida native Mike Kuffermann chief operating officer.
Kuffermann brings more than 17 years of experience with Sims Crane and represents a second-generation family legacy within the organization. He began his career as an apprentice and has advanced through service operations, dispatch, outside sales and executive leadership, most recently serving as chief sales officer. The appointment reflects both his proven track record of performance and the company's continued focus on operational excellence.
In his new role, Kuffermann will be responsible for strategy development and for driving the safe, effective and efficient performance of branch operations, fleet and facilities, working alongside the general manager and operations management team.
"Mike has grown with this company from the ground up, and there is no one better prepared to lead our operations into the next chapter," said Deborah Weber, CEO of Sims Crane & Equipment. "His disciplined, people-first leadership and deep understanding of every corner of our business make him exactly the right choice for chief operating officer."
Kuffermann has been connected to Sims Crane for a long time. His father, Kurt Kuffermann, dedicated more than 30 years to the company and served as vice president and general manager of operations before retiring in 2016. His path reflects Sims Crane's longstanding commitment to developing talent from within and building a culture rooted in safety, reliability, trust and people, the company said.
Kuffermann is known for building lasting relationships with customers and team members alike, and for his focus on performance results that don’t come at the expense of safety.
