Makinex Wins 2026 World of Concrete Innovative Product Award for Forced Action Mixer
Makinex, a global manufacturer of innovative jobsite equipment focused on safety, productivity, and efficiency, has won World of Concrete’s 2026 Expert’s Choice Innovation Award in the surface prep category for its new Forced Action Mixer (FAM-120).
Presented annually, the WOC Innovative Product Awards celebrates the most cutting-edge solutions from manufacturers and service providers in the industry. The Experts’ Choice Award winners were selected by a panel of WOC editors and industry experts. The FAM-120 stood out among industry entries for its innovative mixing design that produces highly-consistent mixes while also reducing jobsite mess and cleanup time.
“Being recognized with a World of Concrete Innovative Product Award is a huge honor, and shows that the industry is ready for smarter, more efficient mixing solutions,” said Brandy Carmona, product manager, Makinex North America. “We engineered the FAM-120 with contractors in mind to raise the bar for usability on the jobsite. This award validates the work our team put into rethinking what a jobsite mixer can be, and we’re proud to see the industry recognize its value.”
The FAM-120, introduced to the North American market at World of Concrete, uses a controlled, “forced mixing” process rather than a traditional paddle action, delivering more uniform results with high-viscosity materials while reducing dust and cleanup time. A sealed, AC-geared motor provides efficient, consistent torque with 1,100 W output, supporting the 37.1 gallon (140 L) mixing capacity.
Additional features include a unique concave, inverted, anti-spill lid and replaceable liner designed for less mess, less downtime, and extended service life. The removable liner allows fast changeovers between screeds, mortars, epoxy-bound aggregates, and cementitious materials, eliminating cross-contamination and reducing cleaning time between batches. Adjustable legs stabilize the mixer uneven jobsites, and a built-in vacuum port suppresses dust.
“North American contractors are being asked to do more with fewer people, tighter timelines, and increasingly complex materials,” said Carmona. “The new FAM-120 is a clear example of how we’re bringing proven engineering and practical innovation to the North American market.”
The FAM-120 is available for purchase or rent through authorized dealers and rental houses globally. To help locate a product, and for more information, please visit www.makinex.com
According to the WOC, it is the industry's only annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries. The trade show returns to Las Vegas on January 18 – 22, 2027.
