This week, EquipmentShare marked two major milestones: its 10-year anniversary and the grand opening of its new Technology Development Center (TDC) in Columbia, Mo. The event brought together Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe, director of economic development Michelle Hataway, city and county leaders, community partners and team members for a ribbon-cutting celebration.

“This new Technology Development Center is proof of how far we’ve come — but it’s also just the beginning,” said Jabbok Schlacks, co-founder and CEO of EquipmentShare.

“Columbia has always been our home, and we’re proud to keep investing in the place and people who helped launch our journey.”

Founded in 2015, EquipmentShare began with the goal of transforming the construction industry through innovation. A decade later, that mission has fueled the company’s growth to more than 300 locations and 6,500 team members nationwide.

The opening of the TDC represents a significant investment in the company’s long-term vision.

“We’re pleased to see a Missouri-made innovator like EquipmentShare continuing to invest and create jobs in Columbia,” Kehoe said. “This company’s history of success shows what can be achieved through bold ideas, hard work and commitment to community. We congratulate EquipmentShare on reaching this milestone and look forward to its ongoing growth.”

The TDC — located adjacent to EquipmentShare’s main campus building — will house the company’s Research & Development, Engineering and Learning & Development teams. These groups will collaborate to design and test next-generation technology, train team members from across the country, and power EquipmentShare’s proprietary operating system, T3. The facility features an Uptime Center that monitors the health and performance of the nationwide fleet in real time, helping to reduce downtime and deliver unmatched service to customers.

"The TDC will drive innovation and efficiency across our network while serving as a visible beacon of progress for our community,” said Amy Susán, company ambassador and director of PR & Communications. “Columbia is centrally located, allowing us to serve our team members across the country.  We’re proud to deepen our roots here as we continue to grow nationwide and shape the future of the industry."

As the company looks toward the next decade, EquipmentShare remains focused on advancing its technology, investing in talent, and creating a more productive, secure, and connected future for the construction industry.
