Ames Taping Tools, the leading provider of automatic taping and finishing tools, supplies and training to the professional drywall finishing industry, announced that Jay Davisson has been appointed as its new CEO effective April 3. Davisson succeeds Fred Daniels, who is leaving the company after six years to pursue other interests.
On behalf of Ames and Sun Capital Partners, the board would like to thank Daniels for his many years of service and leadership. Davisson joins Ames after 30 years with Sherwin-Williams, where he was most recently president of the Americas Group. In this role, he led all commercial and operational activities in North and South America, with revenues of $9 billion and an employee base of 28,000.
“I am very excited to join the company,” said Davisson. “Ames has a great company culture and reputation for outstanding customer service and quality. I look forward to working with the team as we continue to grow the business and enhance the customer experience.”
