John Deere Power Systems has named David Hoffman its new director of worldwide marketing, sales and customer support, replacing John Plasecki who is retiring. Hoffman has been in the position of director of customer & product support for John Deere Tractors.

Plasecki retires after more than 20 years of service with Deere, starting with the Construction & Forestry Division and then transitioning to JDPS. Plasecki held positions in marketing, sales and customer support. While at JDPS, he led the organization’s OEM engine and drivetrain businesses among other jobs. Before working at Deere, Plasecki spent 22 years in the engine manufacturing industry in commercial and engineering management positions.

“John was a key leader throughout our global engine-emissions journey, nurturing strong connections with company partners, engine distributors, dealers and customers around the world,” said Jean Gilles, senior vice president, John Deere Power Systems, Worldwide Parts Services, Advanced Technology & Engineering and Global Supply Management & Logistics.

Hoffman has held various positions in product engineering factory marketing, branch operations, sales and customer & product support in the United States and Europe.

“David’s background and prior roles, including managing worldwide engine and drivetrain sales, have prepared him well for his new position service John Deere engine users worldwide,” Gilles said. “We’re confident that David’s extensive global experience will make for a seamless transition.”
