House Speaker Paul Ryan and Congressman Rep. David Valadao toured the MEC facility in Kerman, Calif., to learn more about the impacts of tax reform on manufacturing in California’s Central Valley.

Addressing MEC’s employees, Speaker Ryan said, “When we were working on tax reform, we were working on making sure that we could revive American manufacturing because if you don’t have a strong manufacturing sector in your economy, you can’t have a strong country.”

“We always hear about Ag, but [we have] the opportunity to expand and diversify so there are more opportunities for people to work,” added Rep. Valadao.

“Speaker Ryan and Congressman Valadao’s visit today gave our employees the opportunity to meet those representing them in our government,” said MEC president David White. “Our employees were able to hear from them about the commitment to U.S. business growth and job creation through comprehensive tax reform. Speaker Ryan expressed appreciation for companies like MEC which continue to grow through innovation in the U.S. market and create job opportunities in the Central Valley. That makes all of us at MEC feel good about the jobs we are doing.”
