United Rentals has acquired the assets of Industrial Rental Services LLC from JMH Capital. Industrial Rental Services is a provider of two-way radio solutions and industrial blinds, primarily in the Gulf and West Coast regions.

The acquisition expands the company’s Tool Solutions specialty rental fleet by more than 35,000 isolation blinds, flanges and racking systems for industrial applications, as well as approximately 16,000 radios, repeaters and accessories for plant maintenance and construction personnel. The radios are designed for safe operation in petrochemical, oil refinery, pulp and paper, and power generation environments.

“We’re excited to reinforce our commitment to industrial safety by investing in two areas of increasing demand: isolation blinds and communication systems and radios,” said Paul McDonnell, United Rentals senior vice president – sales and specialty operations. “By bringing this expertise in house, we enhance our value to customers as the industry’s most comprehensive rental solutions provider. I’m very pleased to welcome our new employees and customers to United Rentals.”

United Rentals, with nearly 1,000 locations, offers construction and industrial equipment rental, trench safety, temporary power, climate control, fluid transfer, tool solutions and technology services. United Rentals, based in Stamford, Conn., is No. 1 on the RER 100.
