United Rentals has two new board members, Gracia Martore and Shiv Singh. Martore recently retired as president and CEO of TEGNA Inc., formerly known as Gannet Co. Martore held that role since 2011. Before that and beginning in 1985, Martore served in various other management positions with TEGNA, including president and chief operating officer, and executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Before joining TEGNA, Martore worked for 12 years in the banking industry. Martore is also a director of WestRock Co., the Associated Press, and FM Global. In July 2016, she was also elected to the Board of Trustees of Wellesley College.
Singh is a senior vice president in the innovation and strategic partnership group at Visa Inc., where he is responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy for some of Visa’s most disruptive products and innovations. Before that, Singh served in various senior brand and marketing roles at Visa. Before Visa, Singh was the global head of digital at PepsiCo. Beverages. From 1999 to 2010, Singh served in various positions at Razorfish, most recently as vice president and global social media lead. Singh was inducted into the American Advertising Federation Hall of Achievement in November 2016, and was recognized by AdWeek as a Top 50 marketer in 2015.
