National Trench Safety, LLC, a Houston-based company specializing in the rental and sales of trench and traffic safety equipment, trench and traffic safety engineering, and OSHA-compliant training classes, officially announced its plan to expand its branch network to the United Kingdom. The U.K. operations will be based in Leeds.

“We are extremely excited to be announcing our plan to expand our footprint globally,” said Ron Chilton, president of NTS. “Over the last decade, NTS has built a very strong brand name that resonates well with customers both domestically and globally. Additionally, some of the unique product offerings we have developed over the last few years, coupled with our specialized in house engineering group, allows us to bring new products and techniques to the United Kingdom market. The shoring market in the United Kingdom is very mature, with a strong safety culture that we feel will respond well to some of our latest product advancements and our engineering expertise. Our fleet will encompass several new products along with the market staples like trench boxes, manhole boxes and large hydraulic braces, which also happen to be existing staples in the NTS product offering. In addition to the these products, we will also be introducing the Lite Guard aluminum trench shields, recognized for its lightweight and superior depth ratings, and the SBH slide rail system, including our proprietary internal hydraulic bracing system, which extends the system’s capabilities.”

The NTS United Kingdom (NTS-UK) operation will officially begin transacting business on June 1st. NTS UK Limited will be managed by Patrick Flannery, an industry veteran with decades of experience in the British shoring market. “Pat is a luminary in the British market,” said Chilton. “He has established key relationships with many of the largest contractors in the market and possesses a tremendous understanding of large, site specific excavation shoring and he has a tremendous amount of business experience in our industry.”

NTS-UK Limited will be the first international location and the 31st operating depot/branch location for the Company. NTS has plans to add additional locations in the United Kingdom market to strengthen its ability to support customers’ needs. NTS will also be adding additional new locations this year in the United States. National Trench Safety will move quickly to provide its national, regional and local market customers in the United Kingdom with a fully integrated, national branch network delivering unique engineered solutions, the highest level of customer service and the most cost effective shoring solutions in the industry as it has done in the United States.
