Manitou Group Hires Alton as President of Compact Equipment Division

Manitou Group has appointed Richard Alton II president of the Compact Equipment Product Division, reporting directly to Michel Denis, CEO of Manitou Group.

Manitou Group has appointed Richard Alton II president of the Compact Equipment Product Division, reporting directly to Michel Denis, CEO of Manitou Group. For nearly a decade at JLG, Alton was responsible for managing all facets of international markets, including sales, after-sales support, global product launches and overseeing strategic partnerships on a worldwide basis. He was most recently with Contech Engineered Solutions.

Alton replaces Dan Miller who recently retired.

“[Alton’s] experience and talent will be a definite benefit to manage the growth we anticipate from these changes,” said Denis.

“I am looking forward to expanding the product portfolio, innovations, and product quality to continuously improve the customer experience,” said Alton. “Manitou Group is poised to make some major gains in the market.”

The product range in the Compact Equipment Product Division includes telehandlers; all-terrain, semi-industrial and industrial masted forklifts; skid-steer loaders; track loaders; articulated loaders; access platforms; truck-mounted forklifts; and warehousing equipment and attachments. The company’s core brands are Manitou, Gehl and Mustang, with international headquarters in Ancenis, France.
