Compact Power Equipment Rental, which operates equipment rental facilities at more than 1,100 Home Depot locations in the United States and Canada, is opening its first stand-alone rental center in Jacksonville, Fla. CPER said the location will offer a full fleet of heavy equipment, VIP Onsite Delivery and a variety of small power tools. The branch will be the first of three stand-alone rental centers the company plans to open in 2017, with additional branches being planned for Dallas and Fort Mill, S.C.

“Our business grew by leaps and bounds in 2016,” said Richard Porter, CPER’s chief operating officer. “It was a year during which we leveraged GPS technology to better manage our fleet, reached more customers in more markets and improved the equipment available to rent. With this location in Jacksonville, we’re taking another step to improve the rental experience and offer our customers the most convenient way to tackle their jobs.”

During 2016, CPER said, the company experienced record sales, expanded its delivery service to 44 markets and introduced new equipment offerings.

A grand opening celebration will be held Friday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4729 Philips Highway, Jacksonville, FL 32207. In addition to being the first to explore the rental center, meet the staff and have lunch, attendees can take part in a virtual reality experience.

Equipment in the Compact Power Equipment Rentals fleet includes skid-steer loaders, aerial work platforms, tractor loader backhoes, mini-excavators, trenchers, aerators, chipper shredders and stump grinders.
