Power generation and temperature control rental specialist Aggreko has won the Environmental Stewardship Award at the fourth annual 2016 Eagle Ford Excellence Awards luncheon presented by the South Texas Energy and Economic Roundtable (STEER) in San Antonio Nov. 30.

The Environmental Stewardship Award honors companies working in the Eagle Ford area that make it their obligation to preserve the environment responsibly. The award was bestowed on Aggreko for its power automation system that eliminates idling and reduces emissions, regardless of the fuel source. The application can save more than 60 percent in fuel costs and increases uptime, Aggreko says, as it lowers maintenance needs and reduces failures associated with overheating and excessive idle time.

Aggreko was recognized with the same award in 2014 for its use of natural gas power solutions in the oil patch.

“Aggreko is honored to once again be recognized by STEER for our ability to provide power solutions that aid in reducing carbon emissions to the environment,” said Mel Parker, managing director, Aggreko North America. “We take our role as an environmental steward very seriously and remain committed to innovating eco-friendly solutions for the energy industry.”

Aggreko’s scalable power automation systems can be retrofitted on diesel and natural gas generators sets and incorporates a hybrid batter control kit that synchronizes stop and start programmable logic controls, tank level switches, thermostat contacts, or any other digital switches. The system is designed for artificial lift systems, midstream pumping stations and de-watering facilities.
