Trench and traffic safety equipment rental and sales specialist National Trench Safety has opened a new branch in Tucson, Ariz. The Tucson branch will be managed by Gene Nowlan, a seasoned trench safety veteran.

“Tucson is an important market as we look to strengthen our Arizona and Western footprint,” said Ron Chilton, president of NTS. “Tucson is a large, growing city that has a significant amount of potential for our trench and traffic safety businesses. We’re responding to market needs and a clear request from our customers for NTS support in the greater Tucson area.”

Chilton said Nowland “took over our Phoenix branch earlier in the year and has done a tremendous job increasing the branch’s performance and profitability. Gene has a strong track record managing multiple locations, as well as leading cold starts, and we anticipate strong results from the Tucson market.”

Chilton added that the Tucson market will allow the company to further strengthen its position in Phoenix through increased fleet availability and sharing between the two markets.

The Tucson branch is the 28th location for NTS in the United States. The national footprint allows NTS to provide its national, regional and local market customers a fully integrated, national branch network delivering unique engineered solutions and the cost-effective shoring solutions.

NTS plans to open two or three additional branches in 2016.
