Imperial Crane Services continued its trend towards growth and expansion with a purchase of $10.5 million in new cranes. The company purchased two 40-ton Terex cranes, two 65-ton Grove units, one 115-ton Grove crane, one 165-ton Grove machine, and two 350-ton Groves.

Imperial felt it was the right time for these purchases based on its forecast of an upbeat crane rental and sales market beginning this year.

“Through B.J. [Bohne]’s leadership, Imperial has grown to become one of the nation’s premier crane rental companies and as such, we are proud to have this opportunity to build on our relationship both personally and professionally,” said Mike Lanigan, president of Walter Payton Power Equipment, a Riverdale, Ill.-based crane dealer.

Imperial Crane’s recent purchase will increase its fleet to more than 250 pieces of equipment ranging from 18 to 600 tons.

Based in Bridgeview, Ill., Imperial Crane Services is No. 44 on the RER 100.
