ZTR Control Systems, a provider of industrial telematics equipment-monitoring and management, has helped United Rentals surpass 60,000 telematics-enabled pieces of rental equipment in its fleet. United Rentals utilizes ZTR’s i3 Network offerings, the company said.

“We’re proud of this achievement and of the partnership that we have with ZTR Control Systems,” said Dale Asplund, senior vice president of business services, United Rentals. “We chose ZTR due to their leadership in telematics in the rental industry as well as their knowledge and experience in working with our equipment suppliers.”

ZTR, in business since 1987 and a major player in industrial telematics for the past decade, has developed solutions for more than 40 original equipment manufacturers as well as a number of leading rental companies. Most of ZTR’s value proposition focuses on the equipment health, maintenance and utilization.

“Our i3 Network is a community concept that enables companies to integrate with our solution and bring information in and take information out in a very easy format,” Michael Tidy, general manager at ZTR Control Systems told RER. Tidy added that ZTR’s software easily integrates with equipment rental operating software systems.

“We are proud to be working with an industry leader like United Rentals on this transformational solution,” Tidy added. “ZTR has a long history of driving business value through solving technical problems and personalizing solutions. We work with outstanding companies like United Rentals to support their industry leadership and take them into the world of connected technologies.”

United Rentals, headquartered in Stamford, Conn., is No. 1 on the RER 100.
