Kohler Power Systems launched its new line of mobile generators at The Rental Show in Orlando this week. The new line offers customers more choice in power output and customization, allowing Kohler’s distributors more capability to tailor solutions to suit customer requirements and price points.
Kohler’s new mobile generator line also includes a propane-powered mobile generator with on-board fuel-storage capacity. Also offered are 11 diesel gensets ranging from 35 kVA to 680 kVA and four liquid-propane gensets ranging from 30 kVA to 125 kVA, two of which were shown at this week’s Rental Show. The mobile diesel generators are Tier 4 Final-compliant and feature the Kohler KDI engine, ranging from 35 to 70 kVA. Kohler said its propane-fueled units will reduce users’ fuel costs by 15 to 20 percent, compared to diesel fuel.
“Kohler Power System products are engineered to exceed standard expectations, and our new line of mobile generators offer users a tough, reliable power source in any circumstance,” said Steve Zielke, Kohler Power Systems’ marketing manager.
Kohler will release the 15 machines on a staggered basis from this month through June 2015. The four propane-fueled models are eligible for incentives of $1,000 to $8,500 from the Propane Education & Research Council.
“Propane continues to be more widely recognized as an efficient, low-carbon, alternative fuel for residential and commercial applications, commercial mowing, and fueling engines,” said Tucker Perkins, PERC’s chief business development officer. “Now, with Kohler’s new product line, construction professionals will have the option to rent or purchase durable, propane-fueled portable generators that offer reliable performance while producing fewer emissions.”
At the Rental Show, Kohler showed its 45REOZT4 45 kVA diesel-powered genset, which features Kohler’s direct injection 2.4L diesel engine that does not require a diesel particulate filter, enabling it to comply with Tier 4 regulations in a smaller space. It can be mounted to a standard wheeled trailer with an electric braking system or fitted on a field skid. All diesel models will have tanks built for 24-hour run time, a two-way valve to transition to external fuel tanks, and a voltage selector switch option. All mobile generators include the Kohler Decision-Maker 3500 digital controller for paralleling two generators.
