Bellingham, Wash.-based Birch Equipment last week hosted John Rau, a product and training specialist with Gehl Industries for a two-day forklift training series for Birch Equipment employees.

The specialized training is focused on product overviews of reach and rough-terrain forklifts as well as telehandlers and track loaders. Rau joined fellow industry expert Bucky Burkett for part of Birch’s manufacture-led educational series for employees. Birch this year has added $2 million worth of material handling equipment to its fleet, making the 20-hours of operational and maintenance training well timed.

Birch Equipment provides 6,000 hours in paid training annually to employees, including weekly equipment training, on-site factory tours, sales and technology instruction, and attendance at industry-specific conferences. It is No. 88 on the RER 100.
