National Trench Safety, Houston-based trench shoring and traffic safety rental specialists, has opened a new branch operation in Chicago. The Chicago branch will be managed by Matt Clymer, a trench safety veteran with many years of industry and branch management experience.
“Chicago is the third-largest metropolitan area nationwide and gives NTS its first presence in the Midwest,” said NTS president Ron Chilton. “The Chicago market has some significant infrastructure projects underway, with additional new projects being started this year. The decision to expand into Illinois was driven by our customer base’s desire for a NTS location in the area. While we had been doing large jobs in the area for the past several years, many of our customers have requested us to open a branch in the area to support their more routine daily, weekly and monthly projects along with their large highly engineered jobs.
“We are fortunate to have Matt [Clymer] managing this new location for NTS. Matt has a significant background in the industry and is a Chicago native having been born and raised in the city. Matt’s industry experience and knowledge of the market will be an asset to customers in the Chicago area.”
The Chicago branch is the 18th branch location for NTS in the United States. NTS now has operations in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah. NTS plans to open at least three new branches in the first half of 2013 with more to follow. The company is working towards a nationwide network of trench and traffic safety branches.
