Odessa, Texas-based Light Tower Rentals has acquired North Dakota-based companies Wellsite Leasing and On Site Water, according to Permianbasin360.com. LTR officials said the acquisition strengthens the company’s position in the Bakken Shale play in North Dakota.

LTR was formed by John Avary and Ted Hogan in November 1994, primarily to rent self-contained lighting equipment for use at oilfield jobsites, according to the company’s website. By the end of 2007, LTS had seven locations in Texas and New Mexico. With investment from a Canadian merchant bank, the company expanded to 14 locations in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Pennsylvania and North Dakota. Its rental inventory now includes generators, trailer packages, air compressors, pumps, drill pipe, downhole tools, frac tanks, flowback tanks, supervac tanks, mud tanks, trucking and tornado shelters, in addition to light towers.
