Modular space and storage rental company Williams Scotsman last week opened branches in the Mexican cities of Juarez, Hermosillo, Riviera Maya and Tijuana.
“The new branch openings represent the company’s commitment to serving our Mexican customers in the manufacturing, mining, agricultural and tourism-related fields,” said Nicholas Polit, country manager of Mexico, who added that Williams Scotsman, which began operations in Mexico five years ago, now has nine locations with additional branches in Mexico City, Monterrey, Queretaro, Tampico and Villahermosa.
Located just across the border from El Paso, Texas, Juarez is a port of entry for all of central northern Mexico, and has strong manufacturing, mining and agricultural industries in the region. Hermosillo has a growing industrial hub with companies such as Ford Motor Co. establishing factories there. Riviera Maya is in northeast Yucatan, a popular tourism destination and a growing hotel construction market. Tijuana, just south of San Diego, has a growing industrial base.
Operating as Williams Scotsman in North America and Algeco in Europe, the group manages a fleet of more than 343,000 units with operations in Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
