Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers conducted the largest equipment auction in Canadian history this week, selling more than CDN $108 million (about U.S. $110 million) of equipment in Edmonton, Alberta, April 24-26.

Auctioneers conducted the largest equipment auction in Canadian history this week, selling more than CDN $108 million (about U.S. $110 million) of equipment in Edmonton, Alberta, April 24-26. More than 5,600 equipment items and trucks were sold in the three-day auction, another new Canadian record for Ritchie Bros.

More than 6,900 people from 37 countries, including all 10 Canadian provinces and two territories, registered to bid online or in person. Bidders from outside Alberta purchased more than CDN $38 million or 35 percent of gross auction proceeds. Almost 2,300 bidders bid online, purchased more than CDN $38 million of equipment.
