Asheville, N.C.-based Volvo Construction Equipment North America last week said it completed negotiations for the acquisition of Volvo Construction Equipment & Services branches located in Villa Park and Springfield, Ill., by its Illinois dealer, McAllister Equipment Co., Alsip, Ill.

The purchase of the two VCES branches was announced in a joint statement by Jack Moser, president, McAllister Equipment, and Tim Frank, senior vice president, operations and strategy, Volvo CE North America. The acquisition expands the number of locations presently operated by McAllister Equipment to six, strengthening the company’s position in its territory. Current VCES sales negotiations, warranties, and sales agreements will be assumed and honored by McAllister Equipment and complete inventories of products and parts will be available.

“The incorporation of the two VCES stores with our dealership will be seamless and uninterrupted,” said Moser. “We welcome the customers of these branches to our dealership, where they will receive the very best of service, product, and support that Volvo Construction Equipment and McAllister have to offer. The experience and knowledge we gain is significant and will have a positive impact on our business.”

McAllister Equipment, a Volvo CE dealer for many years, recently established a Volvo Rents franchise within its corporation.

“McAllister Equipment has been one of our fastest growing dealerships and has now achieved a remarkable strategic objective with this acquisition,” said Frank. “The company has traditionally carried Volvo general purpose and compact construction equipment and paving road machinery. The VCES branches are dealers in Volvo road compaction, utility and material handling equipment, and they will now be able to add Volvo compact equipment to their product lines.”

The acquisitions were effective July 31.
