Godwin Pumps last week announced the official opening of its branch location in Carson, Calif.

The new branch is in close proximity to major refineries, including: Conoco Wilmington, Conoco Carson, Exxon Mobile Torrance, BP Arco Carson, Tesoro Wilmington, Valero Wilmington, BP Calciner Wilmington and Chevron El Segundo.

“We chose the Carson location to provide more immediate rental, sales and service support to our refinery business in the Long Beach area, and to support our ongoing business in the western portion of the Los Angeles basin with municipal, industrial and construction clients,” said Ron Askin, Godwin western regional manager. “This location complements our existing Mira Loma facility, in the eastern portion of the Los Angeles basin.”

The new facility offers 2,400 square feet of office space; 12,000 square feet of building space and another 75,000 square feet of yard space to support the current demand and long-term growth expected in the Long Beach area.

Godwin’s support of the refinery process includes pumps for use in tank stripping/final emptying, sludge and product transfer, API separator cleaning, temporary fire water and plant feed water service, tank cleaning, cooling tower pump replacement, tank farm sumps, product transfer on long pipelines and pipeline pigging, and temporary bypass of API separators or process and/or storm sewers.

Headquartered in Bridgeport, N.J., Godwin Pumps maintains a fleet of more than 6,000 portable rental pumps and 3,200 pieces of related equipment for use in dewatering in construction, mining and quarrying; in drinking water supply; and in wastewater bypasses in municipal, industrial and environmental markets.
