Worldwide Power Products, a Houston-based provider of power generation equipment, is expanding its rental division, which will now be one of three main divisions of the company, along with domestic sales and international sales.

Although WPP has been renting equipment for some time, it has decided to place an even greater emphasis on that aspect of the business with the creation of the new Rental Division. David Vennie, vice president of sales and engineering, will oversee the new division.

“We are a young, aggressive company and we see a large opportunity in the rental market,” Vennie said.

WPP points to demand for short-term use of electrical generators and power generation equipment in several industries for its motivation to expand its rental efforts, noting that rental equipment is often used in oil fields, on construction sites and in many other commercial settings.

WPP is also offering a new contingency plan rental option that is designed to insure customers against long-term power loss due to unforeseen circumstances. The new plan was conceived with the intent to grant customers peace of mind during the formidable hurricane season. The contingency plan is provided at a flat rate and entails reserved access to a rental unit that can be used for standby or prime power.

Traditional rental terms are also offered.

“Our main focus is to provide companies with cost-effective access to temporary power so that their business remains uninterrupted,” Vennie said.

WPP offers a wide array of equipment, including diesel generators ranging in size from 20 kW to 2 MW. For more information, visit www.wpowerproducts.com/search-rental-No-Inventory.php.
