Sunbelt Rentals last week launched an iPhone application, Mobile SalesPro, to more than 1,200 sales representatives, field personnel and executives. The application allows Sunbelt Rentals to fulfill customers’ equipment needs in the field with real-time connection to customer and inventory data.
“The iPhone and MSP allow our sales force to stay connected with their customers and with the rest of the company,” said John Stadick, Sunbelt Rentals’ vice president of IT. “The ability to respond instantly, even when standing in the dirt on a jobsite, truly leverages the technology and creates a huge competitive advantage.
“We are a service organization,” added Brendan Horgan, Sunbelt Rentals’ chief sales officer. “iPhone facilitates better communication, falling in line with our goal to continually raise the bar in customer service.”
Apple Computer contacted Sunbelt Rentals in March 2009 when it learned of the company’s progress with Mobile SalesPro and its intent to implement iPhone as the primary mobile computing platform for the company.
Sunbelt Rentals is one of seven larger enterprises profiled by Apple for its use of the iPhone. Other companies profiled include Kraft Foods and Garnett. The complete business profile and a video showing Sunbelt’s application in action can be found at http://www.apple.com/iphone/business/profiles/sunbelt-rentals/.
“We’re pleased to have Apple acknowledge our development of MSP and the integration of the iPhone into our business,” said Sunbelt Rentals’ senior systems manager and architect Dean Moore. “We’ve only scratched with what we can do and we’ll continue to develop MSP and other iPhone applications to provide better customer service.”
Based in Fort Mill, S.C., Sunbelt Rentals is No. 3 on the RER 100.
