Aggreko Inks Long-Term PGA Deal

Aggreko plc, global leader in rental power and temperature control, has signed a contract to provide services to all upcoming PGA and Senior PGA championships through 2014. The contract calls for Aggreko Event Services, the major events division of Aggreko North America, to provide temporary power and temperature control for the 2012 Ryder Cup in Chicago.

The contract calls for Aggreko Event Services, the major events division of Aggreko North America, to provide temporary power and temperature control for the 2012 Ryder Cup in Chicago.

In addition to the Ryder Cup, Aggreko will work on the 2011 Senior PGA at Valhalla in Louisville, Ky., the 2011 PGA at Atlanta Athletic Club, the 2012 PGA at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island in South Carolina, the 2013 PGA at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., and the 2014 PGA at Valhalla, among others.

A typical PGA event requires an array of equipment including enough electricity to power 480 medium-sized homes, enough cable to stretch from New York City to Baltimore, enough air-conditioning to keep 500 medium-sized homes cool, and 5,000 man hours from a dozen experienced Aggreko technicians sourced throughout the company’s national network of more than 50 local service centers.

Aggreko has a long history of powering some of the highest profile events in the world, including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2009 presidential inauguration, and the Daytona 500.
