Worldwide industrial services company Harsco Corp. last week announced several new contracts totaling more than $3 million to support new project starts, led by a job worth more than $1 million to provide and install rental formwork throughout most of 2009 during the construction of new structures for a 70-acre wastewater treatment plant for the city of Seattle. Harsco has rental formwork contracts for three major wastewater treatment plant expansion projects in Virginia, all scheduled for completion in 2009, and will also provide formwork for the construction of a new water intake structure in California.
Harsco is also supporting the construction of a new control tower at the Reno/Tahoe International Airport, designing and engineering a unique scaffolding and platform installation to allow contractors to build the elevated cab section of the tower without ground-up support. Harsco is also supporting the refurbishment of a large concrete shipping dock in Portland, Ore., providing work platform structure to enable work crews to access the dock for repairs and upgrades.
