Oklahoma City-based dealer Kirby Smith Machinery grew significantly last week by acquiring the assets of Continental Equipment Co., based in Dallas. Kirby-Smith, with branches in St. Louis, Kansas City, Kan., and Tulsa, Okla., has essentially tripled its market area by adding Continental’s five Texas locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Amarillo, Abilene and Lubbock.
Kirby Smith has a large rental division, offering cranes, earth-moving, paving, roadbuilding, material-handling, compaction, demolition equipment and more, up to 130-ton capacity rough terrain cranes. Both Kirby Smith and the former Continental are major Komatsu dealers. Kirby Smith also represents Manitowoc cranes, Grove cranes, National boom trucks, Bomag compactors, Link-Belt excavators, Gomaco pavers, Broce brooms, Sky-Trak forklifts, Dressta dozers, LeeBoy asphalt pavers and compaction, Gradall excavators, and more.
Kirby Smith Machinery was established in 1983.
