Aggreko, global leader in rental power, cooling, heating and oil-free air compressors, helped transform a 25,000-square-foot warehouse, leased by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, into a studio for Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang to create 42 panels — 162-feet long and 10-feet high — by applying gunpowder to a stencil and igniting it.
Under a contract with HAR-CON Mechanical Contractors, Aggreko engineered a climate-control and air-quality solution to create the right environment for the work.
Aggreko provided a 1,000-kVA generator, a 200-ton chiller, a 10,000-cfm dehumidifier, four air handlers and a 500-gpm pump to keep the temperature inside the warehouse at 68 to 76 degrees with 50- to 55-percent humidity.
Aggreko North America is No. 9 on the RER 100.
