Able Equipment Rental provided multiple generators to customers in the New York City, Long Island and New Jersey areas after a massive rainstorm with 70 mph winds left nearly a million utility customers without power from Pennsylvania to Connecticut recently. On Sunday, March 14, as the storm raged, Able mobilized office, sales and service staff and drivers in both their Long Island and New Jersey locations to handle all customer requests for temporary power and cable.

For the next four days, Able crews supplied generators in sizes from 14kW to 1000kW as well as cables, aerial work platforms and high-reach forklifts. Able used in-house drivers to transport the equipment, despite delays caused by downed trees and power lines.

Customers included a major Long Island shipping company where a 1,000kW generator was provided for its distribution center, and a funeral home on Staten Island.

Based in Copiague, N.Y., Able Equipment Rental is No. 105 on the RER 100.
