United Rentals said this week that the company was named the official equipment rental partner of The PGA of America through 2014. About 10,000 golf facilities nationwide that are staffed by PGA Professionals will now have a national account relationship with United Rentals. The new licensing agreement features United Rentals as co-presenting sponsor of the PGA Winter Championships and as a supporting sponsor of Golf Retirement Plus.

“We are extremely pleased to expand our support of The PGA of America in this new role, which makes our services available at favorable prices to PGA Professionals at premier green-grass facilities,” said United Rentals CEO Michael Kneeland. “Our branch footprint and depth of resources will allow us to respond quickly to maintenance, renovation and construction needs, helping these facilities in turn serve their own customers.”

The PGA Winter Championships is a six-event series that opened its 58th season January 7 and continued through February 7. Founded in 1997, Golf Retirement Plus is a supplemental retirement program for PGA professionals and apprentices, GCSAA superintendents and CMAA club managers.

United Rentals, Greenwich, Conn., is No. 1 on the RER 100.
