Seeing growth opportunities in the rental market, Vermeer is making a $1 million investment in support of the rental market, the company said, modifying its business operations to put more focus and resources into the rental industry with enhanced manufacturing and design work, increased staffing, and marketing.

In the past, Vermeer has struggled to develop a product line that met both the robust contractor requirements and yet fit within the price points of the rental market. Vermeer said it is taking a new approach and will concentrate engineering resources to design equipment to meet the specific needs, desires and price points of the rental customer. Long-term dedication to lean manufacturing has enabled it to realize cost efficiencies, Vermeer officials said.

The company will also dedicate additional staff resources to the rental market in an effort to help dealers with marketing and sales efforts and enhance interaction with global accounts.
